Congratulations, you are almost here!
You are about to start your life on a campus that is an historic, peaceful and welcoming oasis right in the middle of one of the best cities in the world.
Over the summer, and once you are on campus, it’s important to stay connected so you can receive information about Arts & Science. If you can, try and visit campus or join an online chat. And be sure to keep an eye out for emails from Arts & Science and your college. They will be communicating with you and sending helpful information leading up to September.
Take a Tour
If you are in Toronto, get a feel for what U of T is really is by visiting campus. Let a university student show you the ins and outs on a campus or residence tour.
Attend an Event
There are many fun and informative events to help new students make a smooth transition to their first year at U of T. From housing fairs to sessions on study skills, check out the many free activities you can attend over the summer. If you are unable to attend these, don't worry! There will be other opportunities in September.
Sign up for College Welcome Session
College Welcome Sessions are a great way to get a feel for your new home on campus. If you are able to attend, these are a great way to ask questions about enrolling in courses, fees and more.
Join an Online Event
If you can't make it to campus, don't worry. There are many ways to connect with us online. Join one of our live streams or online chats scheduled over the summer.
Come to Orientation Week
Whether you live on or off campus, orientation is a great way to get to know your way around. While it's not mandatory to attend, it gives you a chance to meet people and have fun before classes begin. Watch for updates from your college and check out our Orientation Calendar for a list of all events happening on campus in August and September.
Get Your U of T ID and Email
One of the first things you should do when you arrive on campus is pick up your student ID card, called the TCard, located at the Koffler Student Services Centre.
Next, be sure to activate your campus email address through UTmail+ using your UTORid and password. This is how the Registrar, colleges and departments will send you important information.
Don't forget! Once you have your UTmail+ and TCard, go onto ACORN to update your contact information.
